Hello, and welcome to our class! I am Ms. Berman, your math teacher this year at North East Middle School, and I’m very excited to begin building our classroom community. I have been teaching math at NEMS for 11 years and look forward to many more years in the classroom. Let me introduce myself! I grew up on Long Island and moved down here to go to college at the University of Delaware, where I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in elementary and math education, followed by a certification in Game-Based Learning from Drexel University. Then, I decided to stay and teach in Cecil County! I live here now with my dog – a sweet beagle named Charlie – and love practicing yoga, taking Charlie for walks, reading a good book, cheering on the NY Jets, and visiting with my family and friends. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected] with any questions, comments, or concerns that come up and I’ll be happy to help! I look forward to a wonderful year!
My name is Ms. Hartung and I will be your second 6th grade math teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. I live in North East, but I grew up in Binghamton, New York. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Middle School Science. In 2016, I graduated from UD again with a Masters in Exceptional Children & Youth.
I enjoy watching football, cheerleading, and spending time with my friends, family, and hound, Frankie. I have a passion for math/science and working with kids to reach their highest potential. This is my second year as a teacher at North East Middle School and I am determined to make this year even better than the last!
